IMCC and Cloud Floating Free are offering a Racial Affinity Group– a white identifying practice group focusing on deepening anti-racist engagement, supported by dharma practice and Sangha– one Monday or Thursday evening, starting in December 2025. The group will be open to 10 white individuals who are interested in engaging with a model designed and described by Ruth King in her book Mindful of Race. The group will meet monthly for a minimum of one year and be led by Maggie Morris and Sarah Adams. The goal is to invite a personal investigation, transformation, and healing of our racial conditioning with members of our racial group. If you are interested in participating, please contact us at cloudfloatingfree@gmail.com

The BIPOC Sangha is a spiritual community for those who identify as Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC). We gather regularly in members’ homes to explore mindfulness, Buddhist wisdom, and other spiritual traditions as pathways toward a more joyful and fulfilling life. Our group offers a supportive space to connect deeply with other BIPOC people in the area and to walk alongside one another in our spiritual and life journeys. No prior meditation experience is needed, and you don’t have to identify as Buddhist to participate. For more information or to visit a meeting, email us at cvbipocsangha@gmail.com.

A screening of Walk With Me has been scheduled here in Charlottesville, VA.
7:30 PM on October 24, 2017 at Regal Cinema in Stonefield.
Follow this link to purchase your ticket NOW: https://gathr.us/screening/21279

With unprecedented access, WALK WITH ME goes deep inside a Zen Buddhist
community who have given up all their possessions and signed up to a life of
chastity for one common purpose – to transform their suffering, and practice
the art of mindfulness with the world-famous teacher Thich Nhat Hanh.
Filmed over three years, in their monastery in rural France and on the road
in the USA, this visceral film is a meditation on a community grappling
with existential questions and the everyday routine of monastic life.
As the seasons come and go, the monastics’ pursuit for a deeper connection to
themselves and the world around them is amplified by insights from
Thich Nhat Hanh’s early journals, narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch.
